Why Invisalign Clear Aligners?

Invisalign Canada. Why should you choose the Invisalign treatment method?

Invisalign clear aligners are an effective alternative to traditional metal braces. The Invisalign treatment uses a system of clear, removable trays to straighten teeth. Invisalign Treatment Orthodontist Aurora Family dentistry

Invisalign aligners are thin, clear, and fit snugly over your teeth, making them virtually invisible.

All orthodontic treatments whether traditional braces or clear aligners are designed to move your teeth. Each Invisalign aligner is custom created to fit over your teeth and is designed to gradually move your teeth into their proper intended position.

What Does Invisalign Treat?

  1. Crooked teeth
  2. Crowded teeth
  3. Gap Between teeth
  4. Underbite
  5. Overbite
  6. Crossbite
  7. Open bite
  8. Relapse after braces

Bear in mind that there are conditions that may require orthodontic treatment methods other than Invisalign. These could be conditions like large gaps between teeth or Intrusion and Extrusion.

Sometimes tooth shapes may also limit the Invisalign treatment possible.

Why should you choose Invisalign?

Faster treatment: With Aligner changes scheduled every week to 2 weeks, Invisalign aligners can help you get to your desired smile faster. Sometimes the aligner schedule may be varied by your dentist based on results in your specific case.

Proven results: The SmartTrack material is specially engineered for the Invisalign system. Invisalign is clinically proven to provide control of tooth movement and faster results.

Virtually invisible: This is a great solution for people who don’t want the world to know that they are undergoing orthodontic treatment. Until you tell people, they won’t even know you’re undergoing treatment, because Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible.

Comfortable: Invisalign clear aligner trays are not only smooth and comfortable – they do not irritate your gums like traditional braces. They are also removable that means that you can take them out for brushing and flossing and for eating comfortably

Your First Consultation

When you come in for your first consultation, our dentists will evaluate your requirements and will discuss with you what orthodontic treatment might be best for you and whether the Invisalign treatment is the best alternative for you.

Your Custom Treatment Plan

We will prepare a treatment plan that is specifically designed for your specific requirements. We use a digital scanning system to create a precise 3 D digital image of your teeth.

Using this digital image we will create the treatment plan, including the likely duration of the plan.

As a part of this treatment plan you will be able to see what your smile will look like at the end of the treatment period.

What are Invisalign Clear Aligners Made Of?

Invisalign clear aligners are made of flexible plastic — specifically, a patented thermoplastic material called SmartTrack® created exclusively for Invisalign treatment. Invisalign Clear Aligners Orthodontic treatment Clear braces

Invisalign clear aligners are FDA-approved and contain no BPA, BPS, latex, or gluten.

How Do Invisalign Clear Aligners Work?

Invisalign Clear aligners are an alternative treatment method to traditional braces, and are designed to help guide teeth into their intended proper position.

The process of using gradual force to move teeth into place is common for both traditional metal braces as well as for Invisalign.

The clear aligners system uses a smooth flexible plastic material to move teeth into place instead of metal wires or brackets.

The aligners are custom-fabricated to fit your teeth. Based on your treatment plan the aligners are created in sequence for a planned movement of your teeth.

Each time therefore that you switch your aligners, your teeth will move a little more towards their intended final position.

Wearing Your Invisible Braces – Invisalign Clear Aligners

You will need to wear your custom made Invisalign clear aligners 20 to 22 hours a day for the best results. We recommend that you take them out only to brush and floss your teeth and of course to eat or drink.

Take care that you maintain good oral hygiene otherwise food lodged between your teeth could result in bad breath and worse cavities while you are wearing your aligners.

How Long Is My Invisalign Treatment Time?

Your aligners are meant to be worn for between 20 and 22 hours each day. Each aligner should ideally be worn for two weeks, before it is replaced with a new aligner.

The length of your treatment would depend upon the severity of your specific case. Generally, Invisalign treatment can be estimated to take about a year to complete. In some cases, it may be sooner than that but also in some cases, it can take longer – up to two years.

Your Progress Report

As you move through the schedule of aligners that our dentists have prepared for you, you will see your teeth gradually begin to move into their intended place.

As your progress continues your dentist may change the schedule of how many weeks you need to wear your aligners.

Should you use metal braces or should you use clear aligners for orthodontic treatment? The best way to find out is to come in for a consultation with one of our dentists.  Please call 905-751-0009 and we would be happy to set up an appointment for you.

We look forward to meeting you and helping you get to the smile that you have always wanted.

Invisalign Vs Braces: Advantages of Clear Aligners

Our Invisalign dentists in Aurora ON recommend the Invisalign clear aligner system as a great alternative for patients who want a better smile through straighter teeth but do not want to wear metal braces. The clear aligners will also work for you if you have had orthodontic treatment in the past but would like to make some minor changes to the movement of your teeth that you have already achieved.

Some of these advantages of using clear aligners are:

  1. Clear aligners make it easy for you to keep good oral hygiene as they can be taken off for your to brush or floss
  2. They are easy to clean using a warm detergent or soap, making them remain virtually invisible when you wear them.
  3. They are smooth and don’t irritate your gums or the inside of your mouth like metal braces can sometimes do.
  4. If you grind your teeth, wearing the clear aligners will also help cut down on the wearing out of your teeth.
  5. You can take them out when you eat or drink. Meaning mostly that you can continue to eat everything that you like.
