Veneers

Veneers are an essential aspect of Cosmetic Dentistry in terms of how they can impact the brightness of your smile.

Veneers are thin, custom porcelain laminates that are bonded directly to the teeth. They are an excellent option to improve the shape of teeth or to close gaps between teeth.

Most often, veneers are useful on teeth that are difficult to whiten. Your dentist can have the porcelain laminates custom created to match your teeth size and shape and align it with your gum contour and smile line.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are perhaps the nearest option to tooth replacement. With suitable implant placement, patients in some cases can’t tell the difference between their original teeth and their new dental implants that have replaced the lost teeth.

The dental Implant placement process involves the surgical placement of a titanium post directly into the jawbone.

A crown is placed on the abutment of the implant to complete the replacement of the missing tooth. This tooth is visually indistinguishable from other teeth in your mouth.

White fillings | Aurora Family Dentistry

White Fillings

Dental filling materials are principally used to fill cavities in a tooth. These materials are also used to repair damage to teeth that have been caused by bruxism or teeth grinding and can also be used to replace a part of a broken tooth.

There are broadly three types of dental fillings materials. These are Silver, Amalgam (Silver & Mercury), and Composite.

Composite fillings are also called White fillings. These are durable. These fillings can match the colour of your tooth and aesthetically blend into the surface of the tooth.

Historically gold has been used as a dental filling material, although this is not generally a common material of choice these days.

Children’s Dentistry

To make sure that your children grow up with excellent oral health, you have to make sure that they grow up with exceptional dental and oral care habits.

These habits have to inculcated when the children are young. At Aurora Family Dentistry, we can help your Children with their very first visit to the dentist.

We can then help prepare the children with excellent oral health routines that, with your supervision, can become valuable lifelong habits.

At our offices, we have games for children to play and an aquarium with colourful fish that can be a fascinating and friendly distraction for children.

Root Canal Treatment

Root canal therapy is a treatment that is done to repair and even save a tooth that is either decayed or has become infected.

A root canal procedure involves the removal of the nerve and pulp from inside of the tooth. Once cleaned of the pulp and nerve, the tooth is cleaned and sealed.

For an infected tooth, if the root canal treatment is not performed, then the area around the tooth could potentially get infected, an abscess could form, and there can be a real possibility of losing the tooth.

Do you have an abscess or a tooth infection that needs to be looked at by a dentist? Call us today to set up an appointment.

Crowns & Bridges

Dental crowns and bridges are both fixed prosthetic devices. These are custom restorations whose job is to increase oral function.

Crowns are used to cover or cap a damaged tooth entirely, or to restore a chipped or broken tooth.

While placing a crown, your dentist has the opportunity to use the crown to change the appearance of the tooth cosmetically.

A dental bridge, on the other hand, is a series of connected crowns used to fill a gap between teeth. This gap between teeth could be the result of a lost tooth.

Invisalign | Aurora Family Dentistry

Invisalign

If you are looking to straighten your teeth and you do not wish to choose the option of metal braces, then your choice should be Invisalign.

Invisalign treatment involves the use of virtually invisible and removable aligners made of a flexible and comfortable polymer.

Each aligner is designed to be worn for about two weeks. As aligners are changed, the teeth begin to move slowly into their desired positions.

A vital advantage of the aligners is that you can eat and drink during treatment with comfort. You can also brush and floss as you would normally do, and ensure that you don’t have any dental hygiene concerns.

The Invisalign system shows you how your smile will look at the end of the treatment, right at the time that you start the procedure.

Teeth Whitening

If you live in the Aurora, Newmarket area, you can benefit from a teeth whitening procedure at the Aurora Family Dentistry.
